History
GIGA was born in Shanghai on the 26th of April 2008 when A00 Architecture put their database of green materials online for other local designers to use, with the entire visual identity created by SGTH. In 2009 GIGA became an independent non-profit research foundation supported by the Western China Human Resources Development Foundation.
 
Honorary Board
The Honorary Board are leaders in their fields and provide critical guidance to the work and operations of GIGA Foundation. 
 
Dr. Michael Braungart: Founder, Scientific Director, EPEA International Umweltforschung GmbH. Author, 'Cradle to Cradle'.
Dennis Zhang: Director of Architecture. Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences.
Qian Haixiang: Environmental Engineer, EPEA International Umweltforschung GmbH.

Staff
Staff run GIGA's day to day operations, ensure a streamlined approach, and develop and maintain GIGA resources and events. Our Staff keeps GIGA moving toward postivite impact: environmental restoration.
 
 
WCHRDF is a national public fund-raising organization registered under the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Foundation's mission is to promote over all human resources development and provide intelligent & talent support for China's Western Expansion Initiative through public fund-raising activities that mobilizes public resources. It is the only foundation in the PRC to have the National Development and Reform Commission as a supervising government Institution.
