GIGA Print

Mario Van der Meulen is the founder & principal designer for SGTH Designs, and the co-founder & director of research for China's GIGA Foundation. A Graphic Designer with an encompassing expertise in Brand Identity and Eco/Social Design Procedures, backed with almost two decades of experience, half of it gained in Asia. He is recognized for having a proven track record in anticipating, identifying and bringing in eco-critical solutions, and their related value-adding factors, to a variety of design projects across various markets and industries.

This unique experience helped him to develop a methodology for GIGA, specific for Print Communication, where his learnings and insights are cornerstones for an industry that has yet to settle on practical ways to do a 'green' job, especially in China. He co-founded - and named - GIGA with the dedicated intent to empower Chinese designers with the same skill set that he has.

Mario's lecture has been called an eye-opener for professional designers, design students and their teachers. He exposes myths and facts, and demonstrates a system and step-by-step process on how green design is done in a day-to-day practice.

This will be GIGA's last lecture for 2009, and its first one for GIGA's newly developed Print industry.
