Velux Roof Windows and Skylights

Velux roof windows allow designers to incorporate ambient daylight with a range of well insulated window options. Double-glazing and air-gaps come as minimum standards. Argon gas and low-e coating are also available options. Nordic pine window frames are sourced from forest whose growth rates exceed harvest, though FSC certification is not confirmed. Roof windows and skylights allow ambient light into projects which, when designed well can significantly reduce the need for artificial lighting and energy consumption. Additionally, Velux skylights are operable, which when designed properly improves ventilation and air quality. Velux products are modular and cannot be custom-made. This improves production efficiency and the possibility of reuse. Note that Polyurethane-coated windows, although durable, are solvent based and should be avoided if possible.
